2022 Virtual Science Fair

Join us by participating in the 2022 Virtual Science Fair.  This year students will present their scientific findings in an electronic format.  Or new this year, you can take part in the Research Paper Division.  Also new this year, all projects must be approved by the School Science Coordinators prior to beginning the projects.  Projects will be judged and are eligible for awards.  Finalist will be able to register for the Virtual St. Louis Area Science Fair.  Your WB Science Coordinators have created the following site to assist you in getting started:  WB Virtual Science Fair

You can submit your Research Plan for project approval starting January 23rd and final projects must be turned in by March 1st. Please review the website link for answers to your questions or contact information for rather inquiries.  

Students use house blueprints to learn about polynomials

Students in Brooke Callan’s Algebra 1 class at Pattonville High School did a creative assignment to learn more about using polynomials.
 
“I hung up large blueprints of house designs around the classroom and students had to find the perimeter and area of the different rooms.”

Update from the superintendent

Dear Pattonville families and staff,

I’m writing to update you on a few things. First, I want to acknowledge and thank our staff members who have done a tremendous job keeping our schools open and operating at a high level despite the significant spike in COVID-19 cases in our schools. Our staff members are stepping up to cover classes on their plan time, and other staff are filling in where we have gaps due to illness. I’ve never been prouder of our staff for their fortitude, perseverance and care during this difficult time. Below is some other important information to know.

The Science Club will meet on Thursday after school in room F216.  We will take a look at the science of fingerprinting and plan projects for the rest of the semester.

See Mrs Byrne in F216 for more information.

 

Writers Week applications are due on Friday, January 21st.  See an English teacher if you have questions.

 

There will be a DECA/FBLA meeting this Thursday during the 1st half of homeroom in room B212.  Please see Mrs. Martinez or Mr. Thames if you have any questions.



COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITY:

Pattonville needs volunteers to referee elementary school basketball on Mondays from 3:45-5:30pm.  Stop by the CSO in room E200 to sign up!

Thames announced as a 2022 McDonald's All American Games nominee

Pattonville High School senior Kellen Thames was announced as a nominee for the 2022 McDonald’s All American Games in Chicago. The annual event is expected to return to the court in 2022 following a two-year absence due to the pandemic. The 45th anniversary of the game will be played at Wintrust Arena in Chicago on March 29.

Thames, who signed to play basketball with Saint Louis University, is averaging 22.6 points per game this season for the Pirates, along with being an area leader in assists (3.60), rebounds (7.80) and steals (3.20). Pattonville is currently 8-8 on the season which includes a win over Rock Bridge in the Norm Stewart Classic that was broadcast on ESPN3.
