Students, staff recognized at the Dec. 14 board meeting

Each month during the school year, the Pattonville Board of Education honors students, staff and volunteers who have gained recognition outside of the district. Students from Rose Acres Elementary School, Holman Middle School and Pattonville High School were recognized at the Dec. 14 board meeting.

Board reviews proposed two-year calendar

The Pattonville Board of Education on Dec. 14 reviewed calendars which outline important dates for the next two school years. The board is expected to vote on the calendars during the Jan. 11 board meeting. Important dates for each school year are listed below, along with links to printable draft calendars.

Board approves districtwide facilities plan, seeks zero-tax-rate-change bond issue in April

The Pattonville Board of Education on Dec. 14 approved asking Pattonville residents to vote on a $111 million zero-tax-rate-change bond issue on April 5, 2022 to fund a new master facilities plan for the district. The plan calls for adding classrooms to address growth in student enrollment; providing safety and maintenance improvements; and updating school facilities to meet current and future teaching and learning needs (see project lists below). Approval of the bond issue would not require an increase in the district tax rate.

Board of education approves five administrative changes

Please join us in congratulating the following individuals on their new roles. The following administrative changes were discussed at the Dec. 14 Pattonville Board of Education meeting and will become effective July 1.
  • David Besgrove has been named chief human resource officer for the Pattonville School District, replacing Dr. Barry Nelson, assistant superintendent for human resources, who will become superintendent of Pattonville on July 1.
  • Dr. Tori Cain’s position will be reclassified to assistant superintendent for student services.
  • Kelly Gordon has been named chief communications officer, replacing Mickey Schoonover, APR, upon her retirement at the end of the school year.
  • Gene Grimshaw was named associate principal of Pattonville High School, replacing Bob Thompson, who is retiring at the end of the school year.
  • Dr. Mark Houston was selected as the principal of Pattonville Heights Middle School, replacing Dr. Scot Mosher, who is retiring at the end of the school year.
