Boys swimming team has several student-athletes compete at state championships

The high school boys swimming team had several student-athletes compete at the Class 2 state championships on Nov. 12-13 at the City of St. Peters Rec Plex.

Wyatt Martin placed 6th in the 50 yard freestyle and finished 16th in the 100 yard breaststroke. Isaac Reddy earned 16th place in the 100 yard freestyle advancing to the finals after winning a swim-off by .04 seconds.

Luraschi presents at several recent conferences

Pattonville High School college and career preparation coordinator/counselor Michelle Luraschi has been a co-presenter or served on a panel at several recent conferences. She’s been a part of the Missouri School Counselor Association Conference, Missouri Association of Student Financial Aid Personnel Conference, and STEMSTL’s Annual Gathering.

Wang announced as finalist in the “I Voted” sticker contest

Pattonville High School junior Tara Wang was announced as a finalist in the St. Louis County Board of Elections and St. Louis County Library “I Voted” sticker contest.

After nearly 7,000 votes were cast, Wang’s artwork was chosen by the public as the best in the 9th-12th grade category. Her design along with the other two finalists will be professionally printed into the “I Voted” stickers and distributed to all polling places throughout the county beginning in 2022.

Pattonville community programs earns lacrosse grants

The Pattonville community programs department earned two grants worth nearly $3,000 from USA Lacrosse to support lacrosse programming for middle school students.

Pattonville earned a 2021 First Stick Youth Equipment grant worth $1,450 which provided the district with equipment for 10 field players and one goalie. Pattonville also earned a $1,500 grant from the USA Lacrosse National Diversity Grant Program.

“We will be using these grants to build the feeder program at the middle school level,” said JoAnn Greenwell, community programs supervisor. “This will offset some of the cost to make the sport more affordable to all students.”

Pattonville sponsors vaccine clinic for children and adults

The Pattonville School District is partnering with the Pattonville Fire Protection District to offer COVID-19 vaccine clinics for students and adults, ages 5 and up, beginning on Saturday, Nov. 20 at Pattonville High School. Pattonville fire department representatives will be on hand to administer the Pfizer vaccine for students ages 5 and older. All three COVID-19 vaccines (Johnson and Johnson, Moderna and Pfizer) will be available for adults who need a booster shot or who have yet to be vaccinated. All students ages 5-17 will need to have a parent or guardian present at the vaccine clinic.

ROLLING RAMS.  TICKETS ARE $5 EACH AND CAN BE PURCHASED AT THE DOOR.  NO PASSES WILL BE ACCEPTED SINCE THIS IS A FUNDRAISER FOR THE ROLLING RAMS. SEE MRS. KUHN IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS.
